KC Infectious Diseases
Community Coalition Board
Our Purpose:
The Kansas City Infectious Diseases
Community Coalition Board is a partnership between academic researchers, patients,
parents, health care providers, health service organizations, and community
organizations. The goal of the collaborative is to plan, design, and
disseminate effective interventions to increase immunization rates among children and adolescents in the
Kansas City area.
Our mission is to reduce preventable infectious diseases, increase pediatric immunization rates, and improve health outcomes for all children and young adults in the Greater Kansas City metropolitan community through education, investigation, and advocacy.
Cervical Cancer is highly preventable in most Western countries because screening tests and a vaccine to prevent human papillomavirus (HPV) infections are available.
This collaborative was made possible by the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute's (PCORI) Pipeline to Proposal award. This work is not supported by pharmaceutical industries.
